Spring Parish Meeting

For our Parish meeting and covered dish luncheon on Sunday, May 18, parishioners are asked to bring a dish to pass:

Last Names beginning A – K:  Main Dish
Last Names beginning L -S: Desserts
Last Names beginning S – Z:  Salads/ Appetizers
This is just a “guideline.” If you have a great recipe you want to bring, go right ahead even if it is outside the guidelines!

in the Parish Hall

Note: We are reading Call to Action,  

a new book by

President Jimmy Carter.


It is available for e-readers,

and four hardback copies are available in

the church office for purchase.


It is NOT necessary to have read the book

in order to enjoy the company of this group.

Lessons and Hymns for May 4, 2014

SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: The first lesson today is Acts 2:14a,36-41 which reports that 3,000 members of the house of Israel were baptized because of the witness of St. Peter. Psalm 116:1-3,10-17 is a personal ascription to the salvation of God. The Epistle, I Peter 1:17-23 reminds Christians they have been “born anew.” The Gospel reading is Luke 24:13-35 is a story of the risen Lord Jesus on the road to Emmaus.
